Hi guys,

just some quick background info. im running a vr4 motor with the usual goodies inside, and one of those gt pumps t04 V trim turbos (which apparently come with 25psi actuator), and all the usual supporting mods

Prior to the current setup above, I stupidly put in an eboost controller a couple of years ago not knowing what they were like, and am still using it.

now that im running more boost, no one seems to know how to set this thing up. Ive taken it to a few well known places, and it always seems like theyre doing guess work!

now the thing is, it will boost to 20psi (which is were i want it) but then it drops back to like 16psi.. or other variations, it just doesnt seem stable ya know
I know enough about the controller to know what adjustments to try like sensitivity etc etc. however nothing makes a difference - it wont stay constantly on 20psi.

but it never has - so its not like the problem just occurred, its always been like this pretty much

i know that i dont have any leaking cooler pipes, vacuum etc etc. because a few months ago i had smoke test etc etc. as i wasnt boosting at all, but that issue was related to the actuator being stuffed - which was then sorted by GT Pumps anyway.

ok, to be honest i just wanna get this eboost unit out of the car completely and ebay it, though i dont wanna put in another electronic boost control at this stage.

id be happy to run 20psi full time on just a manual boost control.

i just bought one of these Turbotech controllers which everyone has been speaking so nicely about which im awaiting in the mail, and also bought a mechanical boost gauge (as the eboost done both of these before)

Ive heard these turbotechs are really stable etc., but are they capable of providing stable boost at 20psi because all the reviews ive read are people who are mainly boosting their cars around the 14psi mark or so.
Has anyone on here used one of these things?
its not much money to risk, im just wondering if its worth chucking in to replace the eboost?

sounds a bit strange!

if it was a 25psi actuator on the V-trim you'd be running 25 psi +

Try to find off Mark which actuator it actually is... I'm pretty sure there's 2 that are made for that turbo, a low boost one (0.5 bar) and high boost one (1 bar)

sorry my bad i fked up - i think i made a mistake there

im pretty sure it can boost up to a max of 24-25psi

check out the brochure here: http://www.gtpumps.com.au/Bullseyepower1.pdf

and Clutz - thats awesome man.. that will be the sole reason i will definately go ahead in changing over to it now, and sell that eboost to some wrx owner ;)

i had a turbotech on skyline for a while,

in my experience a well setup electronic controller works better
even if its not by much.

they are good value for money thats for sure though

nice find

a bits changed since my first post, im now running a 16G and i actually now have one of those turbotech controllers

i tell ya what.. theyre as good as everyones saying

20psi no problem for daily driver and stable.. i could probably wind it higher but not at this point ;)
