has anybody fitted a second fuel pump in the passenger side
of the fuel tank to run side by side with the pump in the standard
position?

i noticed when i pulled the tank out that the sender hole on the
passenger side seems to be the same as the main pump one.

the only issue i can think of at the moment is when that side of the tank is to low on fuel and the pump picks up air or has no fuel to pick up at all

any thoughts?????

there has been discussion on the other forums (us), and i believe they were thining of building a twin bracket for twin walbro's, but not sure if its been done yet...

looked the goods though!

i am thinking about running one bracket a with single pump in
each side, then link them together so they both feed the main line

I looked into this as well and I was asking if Jon could get his new place of work to engineer and manufacture a twin Walbro intank cradle but nothing come out of it (they have been doing fuel rails etc) so we may need to bring the subject up again.

I think the main issue with what you're suggesting Dougmo (George) is that where the fuel pump sits in the tank on the drivers side it sits in a small boxed section that stops fuel from splashing about and I'm not sure if the other side of the tank is exactly the same setup. You'd want to ensure that the fuel pump picks up and delivers fuel even at low tank volume.

The size of the hole to get 2 pumps in is also another issue. I recently had my cradle out to take it with me and do all the measurements but couldnt do anything with it because the fuel stank like cat piss (old fuel) and had to put the cradle back in the car as my car is currently in a workshop and people started complaining about the smell  So in order for me to make one I needed to get my hands on another cradle to work with. I've posted WANTED threads on a number of forums looking for a GSR/EVO fuel pump cradle for months now and no one has one for sale. I've been planning to get right onto it when I finally obtain one but I havent been able to find one unfortunately. I've asked a friend in NZ to look around for me as well and even he's having trouble tracking one down (without the fuel tank attached to it).

The main aim is to do away with the clutter and smell of external pump and surge tank assemblies and have an intank system capable of providing enough fuel for 500hp+ applications efectively. One Walbro is simply just not enough.

Something like in this picture, using a -8AN Y-block connector joining both lines together before running to your firewall would be ideal. You would naturally run approx -8AN alloy tubing from this to the firewall ready to feed your fuel filter and fuel rail. -10AN is overkill and too thick a diameter to work with in my opinion. The idea and theory is there, its finding the part to do the execution that's the problem  Maybe someone else out there that has access to a cradle can carry on and take the measurements and design theory into the next stage :D

the holes seem to be the same size, and you are right the
lh one is not baffled,

looks pretty straight forward, will et you know how i go

Sounds like a good idea but the fuel will still wash away from the factory pump location when your cornering/accelerating/braking hard.

^^^^ Now that's what I'm talking about :) They've made that out of the stock EVO 7-9 cradle assembly so I'll check if similar can be done with the earlier ones (although the earlier units look to have a lot more gadgetry in them than that does so there may need to be some repositioning )
