Okay, heres the rundown.
The leaking oild could be 1 of 2 things.
1) Rings.
2) The wastegate when under load could be rocking back onto the dipstick, which is causing the dipstick to slightly move, causing oil to come out.
Theres not much oil coming out, but any isnt a good sign, so Errol decided not to risk it on the dyno today.
Compression was checked and is fine, PCV was check and is not blocked, sparkplugs were checked, #2 plug showed a slight greyish colour, and it was also the lowest compression with 135psi, compared with 140psi for #1 and #3, and 145 for #4.
I have to keep an eye on the situation for at least 2 weeks, and if it gets worse than it is now, its a sure sign its time for a rebuild, but if it holds up okay, i'll be making another booking for the near future. Errol put an o-ring on the dipstick to hopefully seal it up abit better.
fingers crossed its all good, I dont wanna wait another 6 months to be able to drive around!
Oh yeah, on the way back I stopped into my favourite cafe on Brunswick st for a coffee, came out and my water temp gauge was beeping, it was saying that my water temp was above the set warning amount @ 95 degrees, which is weird because my stock water temp gauge wasnt reading abnormal. Both fans appeared to be working so I drove down the road and and it went away.
When I got home and let it cool down for 30 seconds, it started doing it again, which is weird, because its never gone above 85 degrees before, and once again the stock gauge was normal.
any ideas?
