Cruise Details:
Meeting at Docklands, we will head for Beach Road where we will cruise the entire length and turn southbound onto the Nepean following the highway down the coast. Once we arrive at Sorrento, we will board the Ferry to Queenscliff. The ferry will provide time for us all to socialise and soak up the views, the dolphins should be out riding the bow wave and you'll see your fair share of ships and great coastline. The ferry has a fully stocked cafe onboard so you can grab a bite to eat. Once off the ferry, we will continue up the coast via Geelong stopping at Eastern Beach for photo's, food, etc. We will then depart and head up the Princes Highway to Docklands completing the round trip and concluding the cruise.
We anticipate we'll be at Sorrento a bit after 1pm, the ferry runs on the hour every hour so we will either take the 1pm, 2pm or 3pm ferry depending on delays. Eastern beach is about 30 minutes from where the ferry arrives and the ferry takes approximately 40 minutes to cross. At Eastern Beach on a good day there is always plenty of eye candy for the blokes and generally some for the women too, bring your swimming gear if you plan to get wet. We'll depart Eastern Beach as decided by the general consensus, or we can terminate the cruise there and leave people to drive home in dribs and drabs as they see fit.
We will be having Lunch in Sorrento however that works out before we get to the ferry. The carpark is literally above the Ferry boarding point, there is two fish and chip shops and a couple of really really good pubs & pub food for outdoors consumption on the main (only) shopping strip there. Bring money
PLEASE BE AWARE THAT THE PRINCES HIGHWAY FROM MELBOURNE TO GEELONG AND RETURN HAS MORE SPEED CAMERAS PER KILOMETRE THAN ANY OTHER ROAD IN AUSTRALIA.
*10:45 AM - Docklands Subaru STi departure
* Sometime during the day !!! I won't give times due to delays that are inevitable, arrive Sorrento
* Ferry to Queenscliff about 2pm-3pm
* Queenscliff to Eastern Beach
* Eastern Beach
* Eastern Beach to Melbourne Docklands
The car you bring is not important, this day is about socialising, hence the stop on the ferry AND the stop at the beach. I realise fully that most of the guys and girls on the forum have their cars at the workshop currently and aren't due out for a while... so steal your mum's car and come along anyway.
I will be handing out a rudimentary cruise map for anyone who is actually fully confirmed about coming.
