Vortex Generator on an EVO III

4GTuner

Help Support 4GTuner:

Just do it trial and error will be the only way to find out and yes I have seen a Viii vortex gererator on a evo2 befor so they do fit

That's some pretty tasty rice
I think it would suit it, but $300 doesn't really justify it.. maybe see if there is a cheaper alternative.

NO... don't do it to the evo's "rice boy"

If the vortex generator does help in creating down force to the rear end.. how is that considered rice? seriously... it helps in keeping the car stable at high speeds....

Its not Rice! Rice is asthetic and not ment for function, this is NOT functionless, unless its on an NA 1.5 that's never going to see the track.
If it improves lap times ill get one also! u can be the gunnie pig john :)

Im not sure if ill like the look of it. but ill most likely like the function. be nice if it was easy to take off and on at the track.

couldn't agree more Rallyant just get some double sided 1" wide black velcro at the top and bottom 2 strips there no way it will pull that off but easy for you if you wantta remove it later ;)
If they made one to fit a wagon I'd probably of bought it

UPDATE!!!!

I just bought a Vortex Generator from America, cost me $150AUD delivered and i should have it soons.. within the next <8 days id say as it is being sent expressed!!!!

WOOOH will take pics and keep everyone updated!!

imho, if im not mistaken, the vortex generator is desigened to force the flow of air onto the rear wing, in a straight line, how ever the evo 3 wing really is just cosmetic, so im not sure if there would be any advantage, but thats just my thinking.

This is correct, it also straightens the air coming off the roof of the car.

Technically according to physics it should ADD drag to a car that doesn't have a rear spoiler simply because it won't have laminar airflow, it will have turbulence through the low pressure section just behind the rear window glass.

I could draw a diagram if you want.

:D
Sweet!! I'd consider one for the Galant GSR too mind you...

I thought you were looking into another project though...

PICS or BAN when it arrives
