My vr4 has a walbro in it and you can hear it about 3 metres away from the car. It's FUCKING LOUD.

Thats why I dont think its been wired up properly, as you can only hear it when you flick the indicators on, buzzing intermittantly on every non tick of the indicator

that's bloody obscure.

Rip the wiring out compeltely and start again mate. Don't even waste your time trying to isolate the issue.

yeah, thebattery's in the boot anyway..... :D

yer i thought it wouldnt make much more then 140kw..

its a rather interesting graph tho.. because yer most mitsubishi's run rich... however 9psi is like stock boost.. so yer..

a stock fuel pump should beable to keep up with that.. so possibly your fuel pump isnt supplying enough fuel.. you can make a walbro quiet by putting silicon rubber and a clamp around it.. ive done that to mine to make it much more quieter.. but yer your best bet is to have a look at what sort of pump you have and go from there.. however i wouldnt be dissappointed with the result as that is probably what it should of made considering VR4's with exhaust/boost make around 125kw in AWD.

That said too.. it would be a wise move to take the injectors out and just have a look at the spray pattern, possibly have a look at the fuel filter etc.. just checfk out to see if there is any other reason of why it could be not supplying enough fuel..

if your worries about the voltage to the pump,
earth it straight to the body and it will get full voltage
and pump hard all the time,

walbros only pump hard at full voltage

the issue with the pump is that the 12v it gets from the mpi is rather thin and has alot of resistance/loss...

I remember measuring and finding a significant difference from the battery voltage to the fuel pump voltage..

when your free dre, you can bring it down and i can measure the voltages for you and let you know if the pump is getting enough power.

otherwise, replacing the filter wouldn't hurt.

Did you hook up a fuel pressure guage while it was being dyno tuned (this would show up whether it was a pump/ regulator/ filter problem)?

If the fuel pressure is dropping as the revs/ power increases, the try blocking off the fuel return line (with a pair of those locking plastic hose pliers) and if the fuel pressure still drops off, it the pump, if it doesn't, its a the fpr.

The vacuum hose to the fpr is connected isn't it?
