Don't drive it, RALLY it!
After getting intimate with the ac system in my '87 J spec vr4 on Saturday (replaced all seals, flushed system, cleaned evaporator and condensor, regassed/ oiled, checked operating pressures etc), I am still not achieving really cold air coming out of the vents.
The best I am getting is cyclling from 8 to 10 degrees where as it should be down around 4 degrees according to the US manual that I have.
Mine has the digital climate control setup, the US manual only seem to cover the knob type controls.
I have checked the thermistor, it checks out all ok. I even replaced it with a spare I have but this didn't change things. My next step is to play around with the thermistor to see if I can fool the climate control into thinking it is hotter than it really is.
Does anyone know of any other things to check?
Does the digital climate control box have a diagnostics mode?
Any help would be appreciated as summer is now here with a vengance.
(Just replaced the digital control unit with a spare I have, no difference - bugger).
