Reason being i had a broken water pump stud which i drilled out which turned into a broken tap inside the new hole i tapped into the block..

i just give up now im taking the motor out.

1.pull off all the wires plugs and anything that will make it easier and lighter, this includes transfer case and driveshafts

2. take out radiator

3. attach engine crane to various points on motor

4. jack crane so its takin the weight of the engine, but not so that it lifts the car up

5. undo the engine mounts

6. (this requires more than one person to do) slowly jack the engine out of the bay, you need to lift the block out before the gearbox will come out (needs to come out on an angle)

7. once engine and gearbox is clear of engine bay move crane back, or roll car back (whichever is easier)

8. lower engine onto blocks of wood or similar so that the crane is still taking most the weight

9. take off 4/5 gearbox bolts and remove gearbox

10. undo bolts holding clutch to engine

11. mount on engine stand

i think that is just about it, if you need a hand with it give me a buzz 0401366709 i have done it once or twice now, i'm not busy tomorrow or monday so i can come lend a hand, or a spanner etc.

I wouldnt mind giving it a go cos i dont rekon itd be that hard
Gonna have to tow it tow a mechanics though...

do you have a carport, or some room to park the car just outside the garage, tomorrow isn't good for me, but i can come on monday if you want, mechanics will charge a **** load, coz there is a fair amount of work involved

Yeah im a mechanical fitter and i deal with this **** all the time...

short of a spark eroder i think im F*cked

Its a broken tap flush inside the block

There are mobile thread repair/bolt removal guys though...might give that a shot....

Absolute c*nt of a spot though..

I even hired a 90 deg drill..it was all working till the tap snapped
