VR4 ENGINE REMOVAL

4GTuner

Help Support 4GTuner:

Yeah im a mechanical fitter and i deal with this **** all the time...

short of a spark eroder i think im F*cked

Its a broken tap flush inside the block

There are mobile thread repair/bolt removal guys though...might give that a shot....

Absolute c*nt of a spot though..

I even hired a 90 deg drill..it was all working till the tap snapped

I did this today.

Basically disconnect everything that joins the chassis to the engine. Don't forget stupid things like exhaust, oil cooler lines, speedo cable
Take out driveshafts
Un bolt transfer case (5x17mm bolts I think)
Take weith of the engine with the crane and take out the mounts.
Lift the box out attached to the engine. This way there is no chance of damaging input shafts etc.
