Hi again all :D
Im looking at running more boost very soon once i get my valves done, i have td05 16g small turbo and am wondering what psi stock vr4 injectors can handle? bout to get a walkbro pump too looking for 18 to 19psi hopefully 180kw at the fronts if thats possible?

I have a bigger set, which i got when i fitted the t30 turbo as i thought they would be required, but when the car was tuned the original injectors were not working on their limit so no need to upgrade them.

my turbo has been high flowed, can easily go over 20psi just wannt know if i can handle that on these injectors, i know i need new valves first and a better pump wouldnt hurt, only got 150atw at the moment

If you are getting a walbro, maybe also look at getting an adjustable fpr (sard, aeromotive etc). You will then be able to run a higher base fuel pressure through the vr4 injectors and therefore get more fuel/ power out of them before they get too close to their maximum duty cycle.

450cc injectors will handle up to 200kw..

200 kW at the flywheel, front wheels or all 4 wheels?
Using what base fuel pressure?
With what maximum duty cycle?

(Please don't get the wrong idea Jon, I'm not having a go at you. If anyone knows this type of info, you do. I would just like the information to be more specific.)

thanks guys u might have just saved me a decent amount of money, youve all been a great help so far, just got good tax thats why im getting the pump and valve springs for more boost, i just gotta get a decent tuner i guess

I'd leave the valve springs til last, I still don't think that they are a problem and they will certainly not stop you running more boost.

yea your not the first to say that, and i believe you, think ill get someone else to tune her and see how it goes, it leans out top end now so it needs it bad

No problems rob..

heres some details on what you will need to do.

Injector Size: 450cc (Denso INP-009 VR4 Injector)
Fuel Pressure Reg: 1:1 (Factory is 1:1 but not adjustable)
Factory Fuel Pressure: 43.5psi
Raised Fuel Pressure: 45psi
Boost: 19psi (Fuel Pressure 64psi)
Injectory Duty Cycle: 90-92%
Estimated HP: 300HP

The Denso INP-009 found in GVR4's and the likes are a very good injector. They are the old style pintle injector but can handle FP's up to about 75psi without fail.. they wont dribble or leak like most aftermarket ones do when you pump them hard..

I think anything below 95% is fine, cos there is a safe level of margin.

Hope this helps!

Brilliant. Thanks Jon.
And that base pressure is set with the vacumm line to the fpr disconnected, right?

thats correct.. heheheh ive seen some people dial it up with the vac line connected
