Hi Guys,

Just wondering if anyone knows what types of seats will (easily) fit into a HH VR4?
The last time I fitted a monza racing seat to my other car, I had to butcher the existing rails and weld it on. And it worked, but the slider was a bit tight.
Anyhow, if I'm to bother replacing them in the VR4, I'm hoping for a much easier fitment. Is there something out there that will directly bolt in, or require little modification?
Craig told me that Evo 7-8-9 front seats bolt straight in and the rears go in without much work as well. Is this correct? I'm not expecting a full set of Evo 7-9 seats to pop up for sale anytime soon, but if they fit easily, I'll just wait till they do.
The reason I ask is Nick is selling two full sets at a reasonable price (either E4 or E5) and I'm wondering how easily they will go in. What would I need apart from the seats? And would the rear seats fit in somehow?
If I need special rails, does anyone know where can I buy them from etc?
And does anyone know what type of seats Barry has in his AMG? I like :D
I'm sure he paid a pretty penny for those shmick ones though. :p

Thanks in advance :)

They need a custom rail or a Bride/Recaro rail.

My Evo 4 seat is mounted on a Bride seat rail to suit our VR4'S. Very hard to find though.
No way would a evo seat mount directly to stock seat rails but pending how dodgy people are... I may be proven wrong...

If you search the net you will find a few answers

it is getting harder to find seat rails to suit VR4 these days....

Mine are Evo seats, I've been told they are 7 or 8?, Travis knows...
The rails are a little stiff also but don't look to be modified VR4. I'll have a closer look when I get the chance.

My VR4 is modified stock ones I had made at an engineering place. I advised the height I needed and they fabbed it up to suit. I tried fixed rails but they would have sat the seat up too high so I sold them. Curtis from the American boards made a run of alloy brackets to suit late model Evo seats. Direct bolt in.

Ok sweet guys, thanks for the replies. If I'm going to have to go to that much effort, I'll just buy new ones and get the rails fabricated.
Baz, I'd still like to hear what type of rails you are using though. The rails in the hyperlink don't look overly complex. Thanks mate. :)
