the evo's got higher compression (8.5:1 vs 7.8:1) so the vr4 ecu won't have the right ignition mapping, it'll have too much ignition timing advance, so it'll detonate and eventually crack a ring land. You could retard the base timing, but then it'll run crappy off boost.
