afew questions regarding evo1-3 gearboxes:

1) what choices do i have in terms of front lsd? kaaz, quaiffe, Ralliart (?), any others?
Anything available locally (ie made in AUS)?
ANSWER: Kaaz & Quaiffe are pretty much the only choice.

2) Does anyone know or know where i can find the part #s for all the gearbox rebuild components, such as seals, un-reusable parts (eg snap rings & pins) and bearing part #s
ANSWER: Scroll down for bearing P/N's. Contact MEEK for cheap gearbox rebuilt kits.

cheers
alex

bank for buck probably kaaz for a front diff, i believe you can still get them for the front.

get the box bits from mitsubishi or at least compare the prices as they are not to dear

yeh gave mitsu a call today, and it seems like i have to order everything piece by piece :( no 'kit' as such available.

also Mitsu dont have NSK bearing part #s, only their in-house ones, which is kinda useless to me :(:( (OEM 'box bearings are NSK / Koyo)

And to top it off, aparently Viscous couplings are 'obsolete' and Mitsu don't even sell them anymore! Does anyone know where I can possibly get one (new that is)

And dougmo, i got a price for the 2 shitty little pinions in the centre diff... $500+ I cannot call that cheap or even 'fairly' priced

ouch!

cheaper to buy a busted box and hope the spiders are still in one piece.

For anyone that's interested, here is a list of wm33 gearbox bearings req'd for a rebuild:

front output shaft (centre diff side): NSK Part# R31Z-11G5SA**U42 6-07
front diff x2: NSK Part# 6207C3,5
Centre diff (output gear): NSK Part# LM300849RG3/811RG 7-08
Intermediate shaft (5th gear side): NSK Part# R28-9A 5-10
Input Shaft (clutch side): NSK Part# HR32205 8-09
Input Shaft Outer Race: Koyo Part# (HI-CAP) 26283 (I0810)
Intermediate shaft (clutch side): Koyo Part# (HI-CAP) 303/28RLFT (I0709)
Front output shaft (clutch side): Koyo part# (HI-CAP) 32009JR (B0806)
Input shaft (5th gear side): Koyo Part# (HI-CAP) 26118YR1LFT (I0801)
Centre diff housing: MITSUBISHI Part# MD727860

IMO, it's easier and cheaper to just get the whole kit from MEEK. And you don't have to wait afew weeks for the bearing to get ordered as Chris usually has these in stock.

should have given MEEK a call. I got all the bearings req'd for a box rebuild the next day, and thats including postage interstate

On another note, when changing the seals on the 'box, all but one can be bought aftermarket. The only geuine item needed is the Front Right driveshaft seal:

Mitsubishi Part#: MD719710
