Has anyone ever had a turbo leak coolant into the exhaust?......I ahve recently put an evo 2 motor into my GSR. there seems to be a fair bit of water spitting out the exhaust....I suspect a head gasket however my neighbour said to have the turbo checked for leakage. there are no bubbles on the radiator which is why he thinks its the turbo.....but I havent had a combustion gas test done yet.

Ive just had a new exhaust and cat fitted but the water seems to be there all the time even when the engine and exhaust is hot.....so I dont think its condensation, however I have now marked the bottle to check water usage.

no water in the oil yet

any ideas

just take out all ya spark plugs except for number 1, disconnect power going to your coil, take ya radiator cap off, fill water all the way to the top, then crank it over see if the radiator bubbles then... then pull out number 1 spark plug n put back in number 2 spark plug, do that testing them all 3 n 4, they will just show if u got a head gasket problem...

never had a turbo leak water before... but other ppl might know :D

New cat - could just be working properly. Does the water smell like coolant, or just water mixed with fuel?

I was scared I blew a head gasket on my 300zx once, cause when I would drive huge amounts of water came out, and when the exhaust heated up there was a MASSIVE cloud of white smoke on acceleration.. turned out there was just a shed load of water in the exhaust and it took a while to boil off.

its got to be your cat as it brakes down the fuel to water like substance

just keep a eye on your radiator water level, if its losing water it will be a head gasket

Sorry to hijack the thread, but my car does something similar. When i start it up, usually after its been sitting for a while, it spits out a fair bit of black water. The last owner said it was normal condensation in the exhaust. Is this normal?

yeah its alrite when its idling its just after uve let it sit over nite. When you start it in the morning it will blow out this water in the first couple of seconds, suppose its just gathers when it cools down or something. Only reason i mentioned it is to see if the smae thing happens with anybody else.
