What am i missing???

Hey guys, im pritty sure its the heater unit thing as heater doesnt work and theres a missing belt linking missing part to compressor. Im also loosing a bit of water from my radiator about 600ml every 30min drive or so! Could this be related or would it save from using more water. Also doesnt have a thermostat :? The engine was put back quickly by previous owners mechanic who closed his business :shock: so im kinda guessing its had overheating probs and he has maybe tried to reduce it on the cheap? aparently has new rings, seals and that ( does have new blue sealant thats visable). Ow and radiators been checked and is all sweet

Firstly thats you A/C compressor, yes it should have a belt that runs of the crank, it also should have a tensioner pulley there as well. This won't effect your heater only the A/C.

If you have no thermostat then you engine will probably be running cold, this will reduce you cars heating capacity as well as running inefficeintly

If your loosing 600mls every 30mins then i would be finding out where it leaking from. You could check under the dash for any leaks of the heater unit itself.
