just a quick question... while my motor is out i had a look at my clutch... man is it stuffed... so i'm getting a new one....
i have 2 part numbers....

R1221N $205.13 not heavey duity

RPM1221N $usally $480 i can get it for $255 n thats a heavy duity
clutch... but i need to know is that a good enough clutch?

also my gear box crunckes 3rd gear at high rpm, so prob the sigcroms damaged or the dog teeth... is it worth fixing while the gear box out? or just leave it till i have money saved... or it wont last very long if i keep driving crazy n lauching the car....?

i got an exedy heavy duty sports tuff clutch. Was like $500. Seems alright :) You proberly got more power in your car but :)

Only i wish the cyclinders (master/slave) werent squeeky >:
GARH.

Gearbox rebuild is going set you back at least $1500, mine was $1700 with 2nd and 5th syncros, 3rd to 4th selector and all new bearings, thats inclusive of labour.

If its only third and its only at high rpm (how often do you do 6000rpm + changes in third??) then I would save the money for other things.

That said a fresh gearbox makes the car feel a lot better to drive, and you will loose less power through a new gearbox than an old one. As things wear they develop play, and everytime power is applied it is lost through this free play, but we are talking pretty small amounts here

Sorry I couldn't answer your question definitively :(

yeah build ups comming along slow but good pistons r already getting made... will take another 4 weeks how ever... they set me back $1166 n thats cheap... got the metal head gasket n head stud bolts from speed pro at a very good price $100 fot the head gasket n $80 for the bolts... the rest of the stuff like ceals i got from mitsubishi, n boy they were not cheap LOL... but once i got the pistons i will fly threw finishing my car, i got a few guys from my work helping me install it...

I only know of 2 people with that kind of power, and they aren't running HDs.

Wouldn't 200+ atw need a 5 puk minimum?
