Dirt :) nothing comes close to the feeling of being flat out sideways in 4th gear at like 150kph

Totally agree. Just me, my navvie, the road, the rocks, the dirt, the dust, the setting sun shining through the dust reducing your visibility to 5 metres at best, the trees, the cows on the road, the cattle grids, the barbed wire and lantana an arms reach from your window, being able to remove the side mirror cleanly off the side of your car with a tree but not damaging a single other thing, trying to read which way the road goes over a blind 3rd gear crest by looking at the gap in the trees, and how quickly that first alcoholic beverage goes down once you've finally finished.

Heaven :D

Beautiful summary Rob, spot on.
Ive "removed" the mirrors twice, but only ever on codrivers side

:D Yes, I should have been clearer, passenger side mirror of course, don't want to upset the rally gods by breaking the first commandment - Thou shall not damage the car on the drivers side.

Id say drag... :) Gotta love being on your Ls, at the traffic lights, in a stock Mazda 3, and have some wankers in a WRX pull up next to you, thinking they will blow you off from the start.. :D Doesnt happen so much anymore though lol got the reaction time, but not the speed to back it up =[

i remember my dad telling me he was driving my car for some reason when a typical wog sterotype in a vs calais thought why is this old man driving a little hatch thing and tryed to boot it off the lights past him but all that happened was snap, broken axle my dad thought.
nevertheless he said he laughed so hard he almost side swiped a car when he took off.
i lolled

me,enjoy twisties.. I have driven on gravel in my previous GSR.. nice early morning in the Uni car park which had wooden logs laid out,was wet and muddy, now sliding that car park was hella fun.. harder than i thought to.. but fun.

Drags would be ok.. But i think the control required in rally/track far outweighs launching and keeping your foot planted..
