hey guys i got a vr4 with a 4g63 and have it chippd with an eprom, anybody knows anybody who can tune it,or tell me what would be the best aftermarket ecu, haltec, link, apexi etc?

Find a reputable tuner and see which ECU is he the most comfortable at tuning.

Have heard good things about haltechs lately. Still rocking an old school microtech lt8x myself =)

Chris at Meek can program the proms in the stock ECU. Bit of a drive for you though. If you can get a graph showing the rich and lean parts in the rev range he could probably take the map off your current chip and mod it to come up with something fairly close, but best to check with him rather than taking my word for it.

where abouts is if based ? and how do I get in contact with him, anybody using any aftermarket computers that can get a good time

Hope you find someone.. I sold a guy here on 4Gtuner a built VR4 engine and an ECU with an ECMLink chip and I couldnt find any one for him to tune it ... I must admit I was pretty surprised ! For the number of VR4 guys on the forum , none could recommend a dyno . I think its a DIY scene . I was almost going to fly over , hire a set of rollers and set it up for him LOL

I use an eprom ecu with osterich 2.0 emulator , not sure the exact software used to tune as my mate does it. Id say try learning about tuning and go from there , ive been learning a bit as my mate tunes my car. Just seems time consuming and risky doing it on the street , also a must is a wideband and datalogger if you go this way. This might not be the way for you but its an option that should be looked into if you want to know what your engine is doing all the time , probably a bit over the top for some but i log my car atleast twice a week and adjust tune if something is not right. So many variables come into play but i always tend to make its a tad rich just to be safe.

Have a chat with Race Torque in Wangara. They have some Evo knowledge, just not sure how much they know about the EPROM stuff.
