I'm curious to know.

If anyone has any other model, apart from differing types of the above models, please inform and will add.

Hyper Gear auto comes with TD04 turbo and 450cc injectors.
SSG uses evo 609 AFM and Hyper Gear uses 787 AFM. There is a slight difference in compensation between them two. In stock mode hyper Gear is a better package but there is nothing to stop SSG to easily upgrade to Hyper Gear specs.

hey thanks guys,

i just picked up a SSG for a new daily. just doing the front of the motor now (timing belt/pump etc).

hows the Auto going for you VR401? you are using a 20g yes?

Works very well mate ( thanks to Aldo..Rockabilly from VR4 club ) .
I've just changed the clutches after 70000km and so many 4000rpm stalls.
It pushes my car over 60" at drags in 1.95 which is not bad at all.

Edit: Yes I'm using big 16g with 20g inlet wheel.

HSG, but owned a SG prior to this one, had the need for more power and loved the functionality.

My Auto is like VR401's old one... Pretty happy to say it's tough as nuts, you can really push that box, be interested to see how reaction times are vs the Manuals on someone with good shift speeds.

Hey does the HSG have the same chassis number as a SSG (N23W)?

also do all HSG's 1994 -1997 have the evo style climate control? like this...

DSC00885.JPG

HSG/ SSG have same chassis number, N23W
climate control (if climate was installed)- believe it was an option, possibly standard in HSG
had the same cluster that was also used in the GTO, no outside temp buttton, and rear demister button is on the dash surround.

edit: going by auto.vl Climate was standard on HSG/ SSG model.

My 94 has an ugly climate control similar to a VR4. just looking at potentially swapping it over to a later model style. just need to find out when it started appearing and what models.

Yep, thats the Sports Gear Control, I think all of them Pre-95 had the old style, I've not seen a Post 95 Car using the old style buttons with the square unit.

I believe those controls are still an option, as I have seen some 95s with them.
Even an SSG.

Is the button type control, just aircon, or is it climate control to4
