What oil/fluids?

Hey guys,
Brand new to the forum, just brought myself a galant VR4 has a few mods.

Just wondering what oil / fluids do you guys use?, including engine, gearbox, diffs, brake, coolant etc etc.

Any help appreciated! thanks in advance.

Welcome to the forum. Good to see another Adelaidian

For engine oil I use Motul 4100 Turbolight or better.
For drivetrain oil, don't skimp, it's AWD. Get Redline Lightweight Shockproof
For coolant I use Powermax as reccomended by my local parts store. It works well and is a concentrate so I have used the 5L bottle for about 3 changes

I use MOTUL all round (Engine/Gearbox/Transfer)
4100 in the engine (useto use 8100) and Gear300 (i think - the ester based one) in the GB/transfer

Yeah this discussion has been had before - try searching..

But personally i would use a cheaper oil like Mobil Synth S or Magnatec - you can change your oil 3 times as often and you will still be ahead...

Whatever you do don't use something too light - around 10/20W-40 is best (they are older engines after all)
Synthetic is also better - but not imperative as the turbos are water cooled.

Thats all my engine ever gets, if it blows it just gives you an excuse to build it :wink: 8)

Yeah this discussion has been had before - try searching..

I tryed, but it came up with nothing? could you give me the link?

I was thinkng of going for mobil 1 5w40? would that be too light? I've heard mixed comments about redline? Is the lightweight suitable for our boxes?
