When I'd installed my freshly built forged motor at Andrew Vibert's workshop in Shepparton, I filled it with Motul Mineral oil, unhooked the wastegate actuator so that it wouldn't boost at all then drove the car back home to Melbourne. Dumped the mineral oil, did an engine flush and put the Turbolight in it.
Was a great way of being able to vary the rpm and speed, was able to load the motor up in different gears at different speeds and feel how the car was driving. By not having the turbo spooling up it wasn't suddenly producing lots of extra power unexpectedly!
Seems to have done the trick - when I blew the headgasket earlier in the year and took the motor back to Andrew we took the sump off and removed a rod from the crank to check bearing wear, everything looked almost as fresh as the day it was built.
