What ratio should my compression be

The guy who is building my engine asked me what ratio for compression i would like my engine to be. What would be best?

from memory

vr4s are 7.8:1
evo1's are higher, not sure exactly but around 8.1 to 8.8??

can anybody confirm?
i know that its in the 8's that for sure.

All depends on how much boost you want to run.
Will make a big differance when your off boost too.
