Hi all,

Just curious for people that have done a 4G93T in a cc lancer and locked a gsr box to 2wd does one use original drive shafts? Just because to my understanding once the transfer case is removed the standard passenger side shaft will be too short!!!?? Any help would be great!!!

the LH shaft (no shafts for that matter) go into the transfer, so I cant see it being an issue.
lock the centre diff and your set to go.

You can still use the standard FWD passenger side shaft, but expect a fair bit of torque steer once u put your power down

The problem i have is that i just had a box built by Aldo (ITS AWESOME) and im wanting to run a half shaft on the passenger side short of having one custom made.
I intend on using my drivers side shaft as normal (splines are the same) but im tring to avoid using my standard passenger shaft. And im not running a centre diff (never will)

Jesse you realy should setup your front end with a CC GSR passenger intermediate shaft & use the Whiteline KCA317X anti-lift castor kit.
Evo 1-3 full circle roll stoppers to calm down the whiping of the auto gear changes that are going to be hard gear changes.
The front end legaly low & the rear at standard height to stop the front end from lifting & wandering.
Then you will feel the lsd working & can predict where the F'n car wants to go. Enjoy !
Cheers !

Hi Aldo,

Yeah bud i want to run the passenger side shaft but because the transfer is no longer, the intermediate shaft will be to short, Haha ive already purchased that exact antilift kit, roll stoppers and engine damper are already being sourced and orginised also. The ride hieght will Definately be adjusted when i finally get everything back in
and rolling.

Cheers.

The shafts dont go anywhere near the transfer case

Below u will see an AWD box, the shaft comin out of the bellhousing is where the transfer case goes onto, the hole further back is where the intermediate shaft goes into... the transfer case sits lower than the shaft

Ted, its simple mate. You can use your long FWD shaft and put it into the gearbox as above.... yes it will torque steer quite a bit but that can be quite some fun for a while lol
In the meantime, track down a 2-piece shaft from a GSR that bolts to the back of the block (try Gabe from the coupe forum as I gave him a couple months ago that he might still have).
Remove the long shaft, install the 2-piece GSR shaft, and you've got less torque steer but still a lot of fun B)

Thanks Fellas!! to be honest its been a long time since ive seen an awd box and i couldnt remember were the transfer sat.
Im trying to avoid torque steer by all means necassary!! lol Again thanks for the info!!! I feel like a ********!!!
