I have dropped the engine off and as always the best laid plans fail.

It was for a nice and easy rebuild with forged internals but standard head computer and turbo.

I am now looking at getting the Haltech PS1000 with plug and play loom and as such I want a turbo to suit../

What do people recommend?

Minimal lag and I wont be pushing for more then 250Kw at the wheels.

Car is track driven not dragged so need a optimal turbo for that

What about this one?

TD05-20g :D

quicker spool and bigger boost, full boost now is about 3200-3300rpm but before the stroker it was about 3600 ish

mines making 220kws, with std head cams 560cc injectors and only 18-20psi

am getting it re tuned again soon on the stock ECU and will see results of that in the next few weeks hopefully.

I only run a 20g too, with the right supporting mods you can hit 240 easy but you really need cams and some head work to get there easily but its doable(mine made over 270kw on a stroker) good cooler pipes are pretty important too.

you can get your turbo built up to one as long as its done the right way.

choose wisely though as not all of them will get you to that power level.

maybe even consider one of the ones like dre had for sale a while back as that should easily get you there. (60-1 I think it is)

Check the thread evopwr (Alex) posted about a 20g turbo - Missile mentioned a FP turbo that a dude on EVO-OZ is running in his EVO3 which is apparently the duck's guts.

Oops - just checked that link in your original post and it's for the same turbo - my bad!

thats a friken huge snout.. no way is that a factory unmodified comp cover! its got to be a custom factory style casting! cos u cant machine the factory comp cover that much and have that much meat left!

that turbo is WOW tho i like.

I love the way FP have a good write up of their turbos and describe them more than just numbers.
That new turbo look looks it'd make an awesome responsive turbo.

I wonder what the comparison is the the "16g sleeper" they've sold for a while. I cant see an lb/min airflow rating of the 16g sleeper to compare to the FP 68HTA. They do say the sleeping has a boost threshold of 3700.

If the FP 68HTA outflows the 16g and 18g wheels so it would be around a 20g size correct?

A full dual ball bearing turbo for full responsiveness will be my choice. A GT28RS or GT3071R hands down for that sort of power :)

A factory TD05 16G cover can be machined to accept a 20G compressor. 100% stock looking. Really need to modify the exhaust side to let it breathe, either backcutting the TD05 turbine - or machining the exhaust housing to take a TD06H turbine (Thats the moneyshot for the power)

What kind of money would that cost? a rebuild and all that work would be around 700-900 would you think?

I've got a TD05H compressor housing that's been machined out to take a 20g comp wheel for sale. I was using it on my turbo until I put a different comp housing on it.

No that is 1154 AUD.

Must be doing really cheap shipping then that day!?

I sent this:

Hi

I am from Australia and I am just wondering if that price $849 Shipped is overseas to our country?
If not what sort of estimate have you got to get it shipped here to postcode 4817 QLD Australia?

Thanks

Dane

Got back:

Shipping is $265 and all international orders pay through bank wire with a $35 fee if not ordering through our website.

Can you get me that price then? That would be great:thumbsup:

Apparently people on the US sites arent a fan of the turbo. Believe you are better off just sticking with a Evo III turbo.
