I've got a set of wheels here which I was longing at putting on my lancer

They are 18x8 +35. Currently have 235/40

I'm looking at getting new Tyres and what would be the best fit the gsr.

215/35 or 225/35

Also what it the largest you can fit under stock shocks they are just hitting at the moment

I'm running17x7 35offset 215/35 and scrub on the standard struts at the front, it's fine now with coilovers

evo cpe you must want +40 offset then cause i don't scrub the struts and im running the same size rim on std shocks.

yup, my old rims were 40 offset and they didnt scrub on the struts, but im running coilovers now and its fine, i think i might go 8" wide with 225

17x7 with 40 offset and 215/40 tyres are pretty much the safest bet. Even with this combo you still scrub out the rear tyres on the rear bumper tabs. You have to modify the tabs so it doesnt hit them. Read this tech article I did a couple years back on a DIY fix for the rear end scrubbing: http://www.4gtuner.com/index.php?/topic/11906-rear-tyres-scrubbing-try-this-easy-fix/page__p__204098__hl__scrubber__fromsearch__1#entry204098

IMO 8" isnt required, its not a penis measuring contest is it? Technically you can only go 1" wider than the largest optioned wheel for the car also, so if you're looking to engineer it you should stick to 7" wide rims. (Evo had 15" x 6" therefore 7" max). The extra width of an 8" wheel can also play havoc with your front wheels hitting the inner guards under suspension travel and hard braking/cornering.

You two guys with coupes must need to flare out your guards if you want to go 8" wide. Here's my 17x7" 40 offset wheels, 215/40 fitted WITH rear camber to fit them in the rear guards B)
The rear height is setup as per Dotars minimum height requirements which suits me fine.

8" would be a whole different ball game when driving and turning under suspension travel.
The fronts look like there's not enough room to play with.

Yeah I had them left over from my ba falcon and thought might use them but just to wide

Could use them they looks really fat

It's only going to be a track car so some 17x7 would be better
