Hi guys,
I'm in the market for new wheels. I have a white VR4 and plan to put the 3000GT brakes I have on in the near future. Can you give me opinions as to which would be the best fit and which would look the best:

Koya Drifteks:
17x8 +35 offset and 7-8kg each
Gold, bronze, black (I think probably bronze or gold)
These ones are brand new

Work CR KAI:
17x8 +32 offset - Weight?
235/40 tyres so will scrub to buggery I think

Buddy Club P1:

17x7 (I think?) +35 offset - Weight?
205/40 tyres

Spam away! :)

IMO CR Kai's. But I like wide track nowadays.

According to my calculations, the outside of the rim should be 31.4mm more outwards than the wheels on Jons car (my old car), so maybe go and check that out and choose for yourself.

If I recall properly, those wheels should fit fine under the front if you remove that bolt that holds the plastic crap on and run at least 1.5 deg of negative camber.. maybe more. You may need to roll (or possibly pump) the guards though. I think the rears would fit so long as you just roll the rear guards.

Your wheels are still 4 stud aren't they Dan?

If they aren't, Jack has a white set of NT03's that he's going to sell off from his Evo..

When I was going to keep my VR4 I was thinking about some older school 16x8.5 +32's for it with a polished lip...

SSR Mesh was my fave

go the koya's or the works (not with those tires tho!!)

Buddy clubs are okay, but 17x7 is lame.

jase: those SSR's are gorgeous, but I'm not sure they'd suit a vr4 (pretty sure they wouldn't).

True
Thats is why i went 17x9

The 17x 8's @ 32 will poke out a bit at the front...exact 39mm more outward than a standard rim

And will have roughly 10-12 mm of tyre/rim outside the line of the front guards.(depending on tyre choice)

In the rear they will fit nicely..you could even stand them up near straight and theyd just fit..and fill the guards right out.

the drifteks would be my pick of the bunch

BUT

too many dumb arses with sklines and silvias have them .....

go the Work CR KAI's, get some serious dish happening and youll be set :D

My favourite is Konig Tuner 2's.
17x8 would be nice.
What about those BSA 333's on Sharons CRX? They look pretty tough, but being a cheaper rim would probably be heavier than most. But whos gonna care about an extra kg on each corner?

It depends what look your going for also. Old school? Bling? Performance? Driftage? Cruiser? Racer?

Maybe not the SSR's.. but the older style wheels that have the polished lip (that wasn't just designed to be a ridiculously huge dish)..

Like your old wheels..?

Dammit I can't find the pic of a green AMG kitted and Evo 3 bonneted VR4 from Malaysia.. had the sorta wheels I was talking about.

JAP63 - fat as.

lol @ Tharaka :p There's nothing like looking at a car dumped on a set of fat deep dish polished rims  Where's the thumbs up emoticon?? lol  I've always liked Lenso wheels for some reason, great range, great quality, great price, lifetime warranty etc...

Those WORK/RAYS copies getting around look OK but no idea of the quality

Finally GVR4.org is back up and I could find the pic

Check out the green one.. Dunno what type of wheel it is, but the old school look with a polished dish looks cool I reckon. Just depends what you want the car to look like really...
