Thought i'd just let you know that I shipped a set of 17" wheels with no tyres via AUSpost in 17" wheel boxes individually, registered from VIC to NSW for a grand total of $85.

Just to prove that you don't need shipping companies to ship large items like wheels.

Im almost certain you could fit 17" wheels in 20 or even 21" wheel boxes individually, and still make it under the 20kg maximum (per box)

Good stuff Dre. I've never sent wheels interstate before, but it always seems like a pain in the ass for everyone.

Out of curiosity, what was the weight of the tarmacs (I assume they're the wheels you're talking about)?

Each box with bubble wrap, and one wheel was around 10.2kg.

They were proper wheel boxes, kinda thick

yes good question bazeng.

coz my friend is getting wheels through tempe tyres - and he paid 100 - but oculd've done it for 80 without insurance etc.

thats odd as rules say that theres a maximum size that can be shipped and the last time i tried it they said it was too big and that was for 17"s

so i went with pack n send and it cost me 74 bucks and arrived the next day.

Australia Post assesses charges for parcels according to their actual or cubic weight equivalent, which ever is greater.
To ensure an accurate assessment please enter the dimensions of your parcel to determine if cubic charges apply.

The dimensions submitted exceed the maximum dimensions for parcels of 105cm in length and 140cm girth.
