Where are these from?

Hey guys,

I've seen a couple of the smoothed rocker covers before and it got me wondering if they were produced by Mitsubishi or DSM, or if these are actually ground and smoothed to achieve the finish....

Notice how the MITSUBISHI and the DOHC etc is gone... this is the exact look I want but not sure what the deal is....

and here like the Dirk's EVO II

Does anyone know what the go with these are? It is a matter of grinding the words away? or did these come out on a particular vehicle?

im liking the smooth look as well, my plan is to smooth mine and go for a dark colour.

just wondering you see some painted in colours that surley arent heat rated. Any idea on length between painting and then having to re do it again because the heat has stuffed the paint?

Prep it properly, use good quality paint, then use a good high temp clear coat and you will be fine.

yeah i am weighing up my options also.
i bought a hyundai one which i intend to shave flat and polish up. or get painted in a colour to suit the engine.

here are the three different covers i have at the moment, the black one has been welded and was my original rocker cover.

My lettering has been grind all off and polished back. You still get some 'ghosting' of the words on the surface even when its flush. That's probably why those first two images show the rocker covers painted.
