Hey guys in perth just wondering if anyone knows where to get engineers certs for modifications in perth? just cause i need to get my engine number verified for the pits and might get some other stuffed "legalized" to i quess haha any help would be a plus

Cheers Paul.

Good question. I just brought matress's VR4 and need to know what i have to do to make it legal here in perth. What mods were you thinking of getting cert'd? Do you have to let them know about cams and stuff?

You get that done at the pits... I did it many years ago but for me it was filling out a form, driving to the pits and getting them to verify the engine number... 99.9% sure that the process is still the same. Know of a guy who recently put a 4g93p into a 4g15cc coupe and the process was as above.

You have a fkn current list of engineers Benny...

Yes what would have happened is the bloke at the pits would have filled out the change in engine number form...

do the pits fail you for cutting the parcel tray to fit speakers? I know in NZ its a structural part of the car and they do fail you.

what do you need engineering for anyway paul?

if its just your engine swap, go and get a "change of engine number form" (ring the pits to get one)

your car came stock turbo so shouldnt be too much of a drama.

well just for the suspensoion when change it aye. i mean its already registered over in victoria with the 4g63. but when i did take it over the pits the guy said need to get it verified by someone cause he couldnt see the engine number cause of the dump pipe lol.

Exactly, if it came stock then an upgrade doesn't need certification. I took mine over the pits for an engine number change and the inspector said that larger i/c's, turbo's were OK. Things that don't pass are safety e.g. things such as dash mounted gauges (obscure visibility), mods to engine bay (loose air filters/piping), emissions mods(removing cat and EGR system) , removing structural supports etc., suspension mods (lowering etc)
