Which ECU?

Hey guys,

Ive got a 4g93t thats got a forged bottom end, reconditioned head, TD05 14B, 510cc evo 3 injectors, 609 AFM, and the usual other goodies. Now my question is, im about to get a chip to run all this but i have both a GSR ecu and an EVO 3 ecu that are socketed, and ready to go.. Which one would i be better off using? Or doesnt it really make any difference?

as long as it runs the fans...it isn't going to make a big difference either way. so check to see if the car has the fan switch in the bottom drivers side of the radiator or it the ecu switches the fans.


regards the 609....only the evo ecu will recognize that afm if the ecu is un-chipped. after chipping.....it doesnt matter as the write the chip to suit.

might I suggest you look at the ecm lite packages as the lend good tuning ability to the car for further upgrades withot needing a new chip written.

I cant remember the reason, but I know the answer.
Keep your GSR ECU. I think its because you can still scan with it using OBDII, whereas the Evo you cant? Someone correct me if I'm wrong.
You'll also be able to keep your Turbo light
Id also recommend looking at ECMLink, especially if you plan on modding in the future.

Thanks for the replys guys I'll have a look into the ECM lite packages.. Also, on my Evo 3 ECU, It has an EXIT Co sticker on it, is this anything special or something? Havent seen it on others that i've looked at..
