I got my car back from the workshop and filled with fuel and calculated my distance driven based on odometer not tripmeter seeing the battery was disconnected. I got a figure of 712km which is not possible, seeing at about 450km I'm often out of fuel. This perplexed me, so I looked through my logs and discovered a variance throughout.
There seems to be a 3.5% difference between odometer and tripmeter readings. Is that normal? I cannot see how this is possible seeing I assume they both run off the gear box speed sensor.
Anyone else noticed phenomena like this?
