Hey all.
Just received a set of rear bumper lights for my rvr.
My car never had these when I bought it, so I'm not sure of how they're meant to be wired up.
Obviously the male and female plug connect together, but there is also a green and a black wire behind my bumper that I don't know where to attach?
The replacement set of lights had a blue wire, along with the plug as mentioned.

Thanks.

Same here, Ive been wondering for a while are the rear bumper lights meant to be lit up on my hsg?

My HSGR was complied as follows (stupid ADRs)

1. Mid stop/tail and turn indicators wiring disconnected and globe mounts removed to prevent reconnection.
2. Original bumper lights converted to stop/tail and turn using globe mounts from above and extending wiring from mid mounted lights
3. Original reverse light wiring extended to a horrible round thing in the middle of the bumper
I think the number plate wiring was left intact but I'm not sure it may have been connected to the new wiring

The bumper lights must be stop/tail and turn indicators to comply with ADRs

This is because the position of the spare tyre makes the light pattern from the mid mounted lights non symmetrical (told you it was stupid)

Easiest thing to do is tap into and extend the wiring as needed from the mid tail lights.
Some plastic bits will need to be unscrewed to get wires through
Soldering iron, heat shrink and multimeter or test lamp are a help too.

Incidentally point No1 didn't prevent reconnection
Had some minor problems sourcing stop/tail globe mounts
Now have 4 tail, 4 turn and 5 brake lights. It's very good for city driving.
(but only one teeny weeny icky looking reverse light)

I've actually got my mid stop/tail and turn lights connected. Was like this when I bought it.
Also got the reverse lights working on the rear bar, after removing the amber globes and replacing them with clear ones. These worked straight away when plugging the connectors together.

I'm going to fiddle around with a multimeter to see what the other wires do exactly. Otherwise do as you said penngwyne, and extend the wiring from the rear tail.

Thanks!
