The home of unemployed bogans - Hervey bay,
So for those who haven't been following my saga, I don't blame you, it's as exciting as watching paint dry. But anyway, I am building a nice engine but want to get my car on the road, so I decided in my

infinite wisdom to throw a Hyundai 4g63 into it to get it going. I can then get all the other bits sorted like tint, A/C etc. sorted before putting the turbo engine in.

The car was making a weird sound, on inspection I could see that the belts were rubbing against each other because the plate had been butchered.

This is what you get in a $200 car: Enjoy the pics ;)

The pics say it all. I did a complete repair using a dremel and replaced the counter balance drive gear plate, and got it timed up perfectly. Just goes to show that wrecking yard engines are sometimes

not what you think they are. I got this on cheap due to the horrible noise, it is otherwise a good engine with 120k on it, just needed some love

Holy crap. Makes you wonder how they end up like that. If only the poor woodruff key could talk.

Cheers guys ;)

The smoking cleared a bit, but most of it was fuel, the engine keyway made the timing off just a touch, and the spark leads were rooted. I pulled the TB off and dis-assembled, cleaned (I love carby cleaner), then re-assembled and it

runs a lot smoother with less fueling. Still not perfect, but I suspect the O2 sensor is needing replacement so I'll be using all the RVR sensors and bits.

Compression came up at 175psi dry, I did it without WOT, I was just looking for consistency across all 4. I can always do a freshen up if I need to.

I'm thinking of putting ECMlink in and having a play around with it if it can run an atmo

autoglasswarehouse.com.au are wrecking a RVR, they might have bits you need give tony a call
