WTB: Evo 3 engine

Friend has blown his engine, needs a replacement. Just curious who people around here would recommend for a decent condition evo engine, no turbo, starter, ecu wiring etc needed.

Or ballpark figure they paid for one / where at, happy with the outcome ..etc.

If you got one lying around, price .. etc.

I think techsport may still have one still, I was going to buy it for mine until I found a blown long motor that I could rebuild

Oh yer for a good motor look at paying $1500 + privately and about $2000 from a shop.

Hmmm, I paid Over $2000 for a VR4 sourced 4G63 from SSS Automotive, and that was over 10 years ago.

I seriously doubt you could pick up a genuine Evo III engine for less than $3-3.5K

One of the Jap Wreckers had a claimed "Evo III" 4G63 up on eBay for aaages recently (might still be for sale?).

Even then they wanted $3.5 for just the motor, no turbo, manifolds, loom, starter...just the bare engine.
