Buying an import requires that you have a national cams licence or someone with one willing to submit the import paper work to bring it in for you.
With a Cams LS2 licence its on a case by case basis car must be purchased first before submitting the import paper work you need to justify and with proof that you are competing in a circuit class which only requires a LS2 licence. ;) then it may be allowed

GL Franky Boy toyshop had one for sale now they have parted it out

What is stopping someone (with the appropriate cams licence) from importing one, then selling it to people for their own type of motorsport (the occasional track day etc)??

I know Adelaide Jap had one not to long ago....
Try googling Adelaide Jap and see on there web site.
Was not regoable.
So i guess u can use it for race

I bought a complete EVO3 at auction in Japan with intention of moving all the gear from the EVO3 to a OZ spec GSR but shelved that idea.

Have recently sold off the halfcuts to a fellow WA member 8)

Yahoo Jap is the key :D

what did it cost you landed in australia?

and how long did you wait after action finished and it was delivered?

Yes Mat you scored some top notch gear as i expect those EVO3 rims to have no guttering and the HKS catback 3" not to be scraped :p

As been suggested to translate Mozilla or just use google links supplied:

Lots to choose from as this is were i bought my EVO3 thru Jap Yahoo as if you scroll to the bottom of the page theyve have the dealer ads as you can pickup EVO3's modified for under 400,000yen time you factor in cut in half charge / freight charge / jap domestic charge / service fee / Id expect the car should owe around the 7.5k-9k OZ mark naturally chopped in half. As then you've all the EVO3 goodies to place into yor car and then sell off the bits you dont need as still come out ontop.

My car was very similar priced to this car and with the amount of mods too.

I'll be honest ive bought a few cars / parts in Japan & know how the procedures work aslong as you stick to the main islands you cant go wrong in regards to the Jap Yahoo theyre setup is alot different from Ebay as an example as nothing worse on Ebay when someone snipes the item off you in the last millisecond as Jap Yahoo works alot different as if someones makes a bid within the last couple of minutes 5 minutes gets added on as still keeps you in the running. Aslong as you stick to budgets and are willing to let the item go if it gets to high as one thing with Jap Yahoo there will always be other cars / items that'll come up either tomorrow / next week etc,etc bigger and better.

The cuts arrived within 4 months of auction as the front half is already sitting in a Coupe as the rear half is sitting at my mates workshop waiting for freight in Melbourne :D

If you want help in bringing a car over just PM and i'll fwd my mates details on as he's access to all auctions as you dont actually bid on the items yourself as the Japs are very stringent with handing out accounts.

Hope that helps out to a degree.
