Help Support 4GTuner:

Just picked up my evo 3 kit from Jetspeed today and am not to happy with the finish of the kit, theres alot of work that has to be done before it can be painted, filling in all the holes with fibre glass and alot of sanding to get it flat. Just thought you guys might wanna know before buying of them.

.

you will find that all fibreglass body kits require a fair bit of work to fit,
especialy if you want a good finish

i got my kit from a place in sydney www.gtautostyle.com
i was very happy with the finish, the guy who fitted and painted it for me couldnt get over the finish it had and didnt have to do any work to fit it

go genuine dont go fibreglass!!!

trust me.

take ur time to find one it will be worth the wait in the long run.

try find some on ebay aswell.

the only genuine piece i have is evoiii bonnet (not pictured in my avatar).. and compared to the fibreglass bonnet, the genuine one is so much better... its tough, still light in weight, the mesh is tough as! , it has the undertrays under the air intake vent, and other two vents.., compared to the fibreglass ones which only have meshing that looks like chicken wire....

the rest of my kit is fibreglass - front bar, sideskirts, rear pods, wing... and i just plain dont like it and intend to change it with genuine parts bit by bit.. look with fibreglass, they may look good, but it flexes, and if your car bottoms out, even the slightest scrape can cause the start of cracking in it.... and i dunno , but i can notice a hell of a lot more stone chips?
also just the thought of the genuine kit bolting in , compared to fibreglass just being screwed in with self-tapper screws.. i dunno

im just talking from my experience, for all i know my one could be made dodgy compared to other fibreglass kits ?!

but its from one of the major bodykit providers mentioned in these posts, so i doubt its just mine, its probably fibreglass in general ?

bottom line... if your intending to keep this car for a long time, youll be a lot happier buying genuine...

x2 on what gsr94t says:

fibreglass is ok but will never fit as straight as genuine, simply because its a mould and modification of the original.
