Bare in mind they are same ratio as CC glxi, so start stocking up if you want to run great FWD ratios cause it don't take much to destroy them.

Ha ha ha. I have two boxes with snapped bolts here. Easy fix if I need. I love the gear ration of the cc gl gear box. Not sure if it's the same as glxi though. It's a cable drivers clutch so can't use that box.

Yeah GLXi is hydraulic, as is Lantra, i used to destory these boxes in my old coupe with a vr4 conversion, long legs cross the finish line at drags top of 4th (112-114mph). Can't remember what it would rev at highway driving, but i know the CB GSR box (currently using) 100-110kph = 3800-4000rpm

we had pictures of the engine bay of the 1.8 lantra and the engine was the opposite way round (like evo4) do you have a engine bay pic, please?

1990-1992 known a J1 (series 1) 1993 and onward are J2, J3 and so forth.

J1 is the only lantra with the gearbox on the drivers side of the car and also utilising the mitsubishi 4G63 engine, albeit destroked etc etc.

Yeah i picked up one of these boxes a week or two back, with shafts, turns out shafts are too long for the excel as the CB lancer and lantra are about 80-100mm wider than the excel. Mate of mine had a CB with VR4 conversion, used Lantra box and shafts, kthxbye, job done, skids all round.

I too am starting to keep an eye out for boxes as i can tell they will now be considered consumables :lol:

Also, these are where i got my rocker cover from so the 63 doesn't look out of place.

Yeah I use Hyundai covers, I prefer the look. Just shave off the logos

I meant I have a spare Hyundai motor in my garage I really wanna swap it for a 2.4L
