Help Support 4GTuner:

there is also a viscous one at my place...rob it will take you all of a day to do it, thats all mine took

he cant use viscous cause they require diff shaft we cant use.

Skuz, do you have a Kazz unit?

ill high jack him and buy it first.

just to be specific, you want a lsd for a????
borg???
galant???

I believe they are different..
Galant ones, there are a few going around.
4bolt ones are compatible with evo stuff (1 - 7)

The 3 bolt axles don't fit into them. Good luck finding a 3 bolt, to be honest it will be easier (maybe cheaper too - rarity value = price) to buy an evo3 diff and 4 bolt axles + outer hubs and do it that way. The evo3 centre fits into a 3 bolt housing. Probably you won't have too much dramas getting the 4 bolt bits from the US.

Could you not just convert the cups that slip into the diff to the evo type? But some evo driveshafts, fit the cups to the existing axles and use an evo / 4bolt type lsd?

I don't know if the axle cups come apart, but it would certainly solve some issues if they did.

You can see from the attached photos the difference between the different setups - the diff in the middle is a 4-bolt, the other two are 3 bolts. If you could take the part that goes into the diff, and put it with the part that goes around the axle, problem solved!

The only potential problem is it would be pricy to mod the inner axle, and if you broke a stub it would be an expensive fix.

Surely it isn't that hard to come by a 4 bolt axle? Plenty of US cars came with them.. you don't even need the inner axle part.

hey guys thanks all for your help and input lol. BUt i think i might have to start ringing wreckers and overseas like japan and nz and other places lol. Cheers heaps aye.
Paul.

I have called places like adelaide jap. etc., people who import VR4's all the time.. basically they have all told me that there is 2/5ths of fuck all chance of getting a 3 bolt mechanical LSD unit. (Actually the guy at adelaide jap laughed at me when I asked if I could get one.) When WRCVR4 sold his.. man I could have bitten off my own hand in frustration at missing out on it.

Seriously, you are better off with the evo3 unit. It will be much quicker and less hassle, and also it will also probably be cheaper in the long run - whos to say the 3 bolt LSD uses the same internal parts etc. if you blow it? I've read that the evo 8 RS diff is the same as the the evo 3 unit - at least they still make the clutch packs etc for it.

he probably laughed at you cause i took there last one!! ahhahahahahha

dont worry your selves with this one guys he cant use anything else. to many reasons to list.
