What do you need to run an external oil cooler from the VR4 oil filter housing? I've removed the water cooled sandwich style cooler from between the filter and housing and am looking at running a cooler from the bungs in the housing.
Has anybody done this and what fittings etc do I need?
I bought one of the flee-bay filter relocation and oil cooler kits with the 10an fittings and the braided hose. It all looks good and the plate that goes onto the filter housing screws on fine but the hoses run out via staight fittings where the filter would normally sit. I am running a GT35 and the 3" dump means i will have to get some 90 degree elbows to make it work. I don't know if you will have this problem with the standard turbo though..
Maybe half of this thread can be moved to the TECH section?
Anyhow, finished mine in -10AN fittings and hose. I have 2 x 90 degree bends out of the sandwich plate to make 180' to face toward the camera. Both lines near the dump there are also covered in silver heat sleeving for protection
Ordered these parts from Summit Racing on Thursday the 5th Jan and they're in Melbourne today and expected on my doorstep tomorrow. Absolutely awesome service.
Am going to get some speedflow fittings this weekend and hopefully get this thing plumbed up Saturday.
