Probably a long shot but I'm looking for a small 16g turbo.

Don't really want a big 16g due to lag but I know my 14b won't last long on high boost.

let me know what you got.

thanks

Had a small 16G on my CB GSR 4G63 conversion and all you end up doing is frying the tyres and had no top end. I would go the big 16G if I was you..

Hahah, thats probably true for a FWD though it would deliver some impressive power. I remeber a FWD lancer spining third gear and pulling away from me in the VR4 and he had a 16G, it was a pretty cool sight.
Keep an eye out on evo oz jono, a big 16g is awesome, youl'l definately be grippin at the steering wheel with one of those fitted.

Dont buy a chinese ebay one btw.

lag between a big 16g and small would be hardly noticeable.
Dont doubt the 14b! They give you a very good spool up!

I like the spooling on 14b but how much boost can it handle plus staying alive long term? maybe i should work on other fast bits, are there any? and keep on mid boost on 14b.

What are you calling "midboost"? 15 psi on a 14b will not wear it out prematurely.

If you can find a compressor cover for a big 16G, I can sell you the rest of the bits to make one up.

yea 15 mid boost, atm im going low boost (10) and whenever i need to or feel like high boost (17-18)

why are so many ppl scared to use a big 16g on the street?

I just thought 16g were more ideal for highways and long roads, as to streets u dont have much road to play with.

I didn't think there would be much difference between spool on a Small 16G and a Big one, seeing that they have the same turbine wheel and exhaust housing.

Having driven on both, there aint much difference, though with a big E3 16G on a VR4 motor, it takes a liitle longer to get on full noise due to the low compression, the E3 16G was very well matched to the high compression of the E3 motor.
A small 16g on about 18psi would be enough for you i rekon...the E3 16G is just gonna allow more outright power, but how much do you want in that thing! youll torque steer it al over the joint!:D

Having said that, the early power of a 14B is probably terrible for torque steer, and a S16G would likely make more power and put power down a little better through the front wheels....

Ive heard ppl say stroke for stroke, anything below 1 bar, a 14B will do betetr than a 16G, and its true (on a VR4 motor).
I ran the 14B on the VR4 at 10 psi, then the 16G at 10 psi, the 14B had more punch.

i can cofirm that as well, back in the days when the engine was stock, stock management, same mods were on the car with both 14b and b16g (but with vr4 rear housing), it was even done on the same dyno, just different day, hehe, and here's the result...same boost too.

top end was the same, but the midrange was lost with 16g...

It doesnt make sense.
There must have been something wrong with the 16g.
There is no way it will be making 160kw @ 22psi. No way.
Plus you were restricting it with the VR4 rear housing.
Interesting though.

hahaha dude! do you even know how to look at dyno graphs??? maybe you should look at it again ;)

so what makes the difference between the small 16g and big 16g?

torque steer isnt so bad with the 14b even on high boost, it really depends on the road surface
ie. uneven roads.

I don't know how much I want... till i'm satisfied i guess hahah

I don't mind the torque steer you get adjusted to it plus it scares the person im up against ;)
