Pacecar did a great job and managed to keep a gap between the rest of the field alot of the time, was hard to catch that barina unless he slowed down to let everyone catch up.

Yea, no lie, i only went through there about half pace at what i have normally gone at with mates, no point pushing it though when its wet and with such a big group.

Youda, keep your AMG, it looks fkin awesome, good to meet you!,have a safe trip back!

Johnny, unlucky stack, but I though you were up for alot worse!, Im glad you ended up O.k and you car come out O.K!!;)

For any of you's that wanna do it again Im more than up for it, the roads are some of my favouritre, just hard to keep a large group together...but it turned out A.OK.:D

JetGSR, your car is a fukn animal, like your highway launch, 2.4L of power..;)

Happy to have showd yous around, next time round, hopefully its bettr luck etc!

How did the roads go compared to nebo/mount glorious etc?

Ive just been notified and received a picture text message of the first casualty in this brisbane cruise.

A lancer gsr with vr4 conversion has come off the road and received damage to its front and rear bars and cooler piping damaged.

Happened over a crest under braking.

I'm told everyone is ok and bush mechanicals is in full swing:p.....

There will be updates later on in the evening.

Please be careful on cruises people, esp on tight mountain roads....we dont want any fatalities in our club!
We've already lost one member this year..:(

Dane

Very good point mate. Well spoken.

Im sorry to hear about the 1 loss of life, may he R.I.P...We are enthusiasts, and we do push our vehicles to the limit (occasionally). We do have to remember though that the potentiL for error is easily reached.

We were very fortunate today, I feel somewhat responsible as I lead the pack in a little hard, though i knew the road better than the others, i knew the braking reqired, and i applied wht was needed........... unfortunately, john was a little latter than me on the anchors...
I cant tell you how anxious and upset I was to see your car swinging as it was, though Im very glad it turned out as was!. A great effort to all that were there, we basically rebuilt the intercooler setup based on what we had lying around. Im very glad all worked out O.K, and hope in some sense we all learned to a degree, a little more respect for the potential of motor vehicle accidents.

Jamie.

The only thing missing from them photos is the BARINA!

Hahahah,

Ill have an E VII hopefully. I really like the early C73 GSR's, i have a soft spot for them and i think theyd make a fukin wiked 2L project car, Johnny , Im glad ur car is A.OK, its good news that it turned out to be minor damage,!

Thanks all for coming along.

Thanks too for LowRb for trekking al the way from Gympie, and also Youda on holidays etc (Your AMG looks the shit mate, awesome!)
Jamie.

hahh yea I reckon.

I was surprise how quick that lil beast picks up. I"ll take more photos the car in daylight.

But not all your fault.. I wasn't expecting a giant drop. I'll stick with hill climbs! I had a blast at the start though. wish someone took photo of that hill maybe google map will help ;)

Thanks again for the help and support guys

Looks like a fun day, atleast there isn't 'too' much damage. That CB GSR lancer front end looked nice too. Who's is the quickest of the bunch?

I glad you all like the car, i think it is gonna be my cruising car with the gsr as the track car from now on.

jamie was that on tomewin road?

Which part? the first part where i drove as if i was in an actually rally :p is Ducats rd..

The corner that caught me a little off guard and unfortunately jonos car too, is on Trees rd. It was actually the nasty dip before the corner that unsettled my car, same happened in pauls beemer, so the CB did well considering it didnt have any traction control or any gadgets, i know pauls Beemer TCS light went mad in that dip, and in my car it felt like i was in the gravitron when i hit that dip.

CLick and paste the below in to google maps
350 Trees rd, Tallebudgera,QLd,Australia
*click on the yellow man symbol and it gives a realtime camera view.
Gives you an idea of what sort of drop thats there and the curved descent.

346 Trees rd is where it all came to a stop.
318 Trees rd is the bottom of the hill where Troy did a wheel alignment to within 1mm:D

Anyway, get a load of that hill, no joke is it.!
I think we can all say that Hill 'climbing' is likely safer than Hill 'descending', at least when climbing its easier to peel speed off, The way that hill was, it was probably the equivalent of trying to peel off 220K in the time it takes to drop a hundred..Anyway, in the end,Johno did very well with the wheel.:),couldve been worse.

Hmmm, I think troys car would safely eat everone twice over...Id imagine tims car would also boogie in a straight line....Though when doing 190k through the canefields (open speed limits folks:D) the only one in my rear view was Rob!:D

Google map this..we went past this, but not on it.

Boyds Ln, Dulguigan NSW 2484

Another favourite, and completely desrted, mostly....Can anyone guess what used to go on there!:D

38 Tomewin Rd, Kynnumboon, NSW, Australia

This is where Rob actually 'Found' his throttle pedal.:D:D

PS, if anyone likes dance music, download.. Still Alive (Paul Van Dyk Remix), this started playing on my CD after the off that Jono hadd, no shit, i was creeped out! haha,i thought it was rather fitting music for the rest of the drive.

Since I did the accident, its fair enough I should search for the hill.

Google earth

I was quite impressed how'd it handled. Being a fwd and unbalanced weight ratio. Compare to the stock setup it's amazing how few mods can do much difference.

oh, Jamie I'll downloading the song too!

And what a hill it is!

Yeah i noticed you have sway bars etc in the back of your car, you went well and were with me through ducats road and its pretty tight through there...so tight the handbrake occasionally needed yanking!:D

A big thank you to Jamie for playing baby sitter to us all.

There was a great variety of roads, definitely leaves Mt Nebo, Mt Glorious and Mt Mee for dead :D.

Don't forget to get a proper wheel alignment after you have worked out and fixed whatever is bent Jon.

Here's my out of focus pics from the day.

Damb Rob I don't think there is one clean shot of my car?

I guess it isn't a VR4 so it wasn't worthy ...

There was actually all of us having a part in fixing johnos car, I think everyone of us put a hand on his car over the course of the day.
Rob was maybe just an eye! ;) and a wheel nut or two.

Troy
