Hey guys I've been debating with myself over the colour of the rocker cover.
So far the Bright Red cover (Left) in the following pics has been sandblasted, cleaned, undercoated and sprayed 3 times with Septone Red caliper paint and left to dry. Unfortunately I was too pedantic and thought id just give one section another quick go and the spraycan fucked up pissed out and sprayed a few splotches onto it! THEN after a few mins of being pissed off a freak wind blew up the newspaper underneath (despite being held down with various items) and it started to get stuck onto the cover, along with some bits of shit which I have now got off but its not 100%. I was intending to put 2 coats of clearcoat over the top and I wondered if the clearcoat would make the few albeit tiny splotches go away and or blend in?
Anyway I went into Supercheap and they stopped selling the septone brand brake caliper paint a while ago. They are intending to bring it back soon and its on order but I just got some duplicolour caliper paint instead and as you can see on the 2nd cover I just cleaned one area with brake clean and sprayed it on with no other prep work. I cant use this one as the bolt hole in the center nearest to the timing belt has a huge crack around it which I havnt fixed with plastiweld.
Im currently leaning towards spraying 2 coats of the duplicolour over the left cover and going with that as it looks the closest to the colour of my car.
There is a poll up top if you wanted to vote on what I should do or go another colour.
Cheers

I just got mine powder coated in the same colour (or as close to) as my TME. I think that colour with all shinny new black piping looks the best and less likely to annoy the Po-Po if an "Inspection" happens
Edit: Also love the TME interior, i did that to my Evo 3 for a bit of fun and it just feels right

I don't know how many times I have suffered this exact same thing for the exact same reason when painting the various bits n pieces for my car.
Voted.

I've just had my rocker cover painted in pyrenees black same as the car, was painted in 2 pack paint then had the letters sanded back and hit it with a clear coat to make it easier to clean dirt off! Looks good in the sun with green flakes, in your case I think black with red flakes would look tuff!
