Hi all, I’ve bought a gsr shell that seems to have been in a front end collision, it came to me with a piece of bar welded in where the lower rad support should be, and the rails that run along the bottom of the floor are *slightly* kinked.
How would one go about making sure that everything is within factory spec as far as straightness/square/alignment are concerned?? Where abouts would I find the measurements I need to cross reference against my car?
Also looking into seam welding, I’m handy on the welder and the car is being completely stripped to bare metal anyway, has anybody done it and did it make a significant difference in chassis stiffness/ handling??

Apologies if this has been covered previously
Cheers and happy Friday :)

Not quick or easy, but if you measure twice and cut/drill out everything in the correct ways, it is fairly simple.

For the measurements, you'll want to source the workshop manual. OR... if you source yourself a donor car first (which will probably be the fastest way), before you cut anything out, you could use that for the measurements.
