There are a few box's that can be adapted, but In my opinion, Get your hands on a 1.6L GSR box. Beleive me.. It'll cop the punishment.
Next option would be a a VR4 4wd gearbox which is switchable to FWD
Next best option is to track down a KM210 Hyundai sonata box, they're actually the same box in the 4g61t cyborgs.
Each has different gear ratio's. But personal experience with the 61t and 61n/a gearbox, they seem to work beautifully.

in the US you can use a fwd DSM flywheel, but in australia the only thing is the mathcing magna flywheel. reason being, that the KM210 mounts the starter motor 10 mm further out so VR4 f/wheels don't reach the starter. but i suppose if the 1.6 GSR clutch can handle it the magna one should (my car isn't on the road yet)

the km210 is very very strong, i have put all sorts off abuse through mine and it loves it!! had upwards of 165kw at the wheels and it takes everything, hard launch, flat changes!! you name it.
dont you have to change shifter stuff with the vr4 box? i had trouble when putting the vr4 box in my awd
ill be putting a evo box into my fwd later this year so will be able to tell you how easy or hard that is.

i used a cc shifter to start with with 4g61 cables as a short shift even before the conversion. to use the vr4 box, the back a forth moving cable mounting onto the box i changed. the link is longer than the 4g61 normal one so i cut it, turned it upside down and welded it back shorter, this put it in the same spot the 4g61 box had to start with. not overly had, but no real simple either. but also retains the short shift that i had before hand.
