Okay, does anyone know any 3rd party units that will work with ours?

Was just quoted:

o2 sensor (MD319021): $420 delivered
temp sensor (MD155373): $184 delivered

These are genuine Mitsubishi replacements, so hence the price.

Clearly do not wish to spend this amount.

AFAIK, supercheap has a 2 wire for a Galant VR4 which is the same, ~$80 for the O2 sensor. It's a Bosch Universal (If I recall) and is a direct fit.

As for the temp sensor, I'm not too sure..

Yeah, I have the bosch part number.
My concern with it though is the plug and fact it's 2 wire.
Was hoping someones done the mod to report the result

Might get it anyway from my guy at repco and give it a whirl

Factory is a 2 wire.
I meant more in the fact of being universal, I dont think the wire colors would be the same, and don't know if it makes a difference which way it's wired....... I assume it does...

I also noted I do not have the bosch part number, only the ngk part number.

The temp sensor in the cat doesn't need to be there. If you have an aftermarket exhaust these wires should be earthed to stop the exhaust temp light on the dash. If not, just un-plug the sensor and earth the wires.

As for the 02 sensor- try asking for one from a CC GSR at your local parts store.

Until the 21st of this month I believe.

I'll be hitting him up the day he gets back so I can get some info on a modification we're doing for my Auto... Once he lets me know, the real fun begins... Creating a new solenoid control unit with variable shift pressure. The diagram I've made up should be easy to construct... but to make it work, that will be the fun part!

Yeah, been reading the other threads about this (what little information is there), should be quite the mod!

Damn, want to replace the sensor this week :(
stupid uncommon cars

Mio still on holidays?
Still mate, but for couple more days.

BTW: As Clutz said, don't worry about heat sensor, mine is earthed too. Also, have you ever thought about bad or dirty injectors before you blame O2 sensor? 450cc single spray get dirty easy. I'm not sure what they have in ssg but hsg 450cc injectors from auto are twin spray, much better then single.

The injectors were next on the list.
typically it's the last thng people worry about, and with myself and a lot of other people to have their injectors tested, they came back at like .9% inefficiency, which barely made the cost worth it.
I figured I'd attack the o2 sensor first as the car has done almost twice the cycle life of the sensor.

injectors would be upgraded when I go 18G B)

okay, finally found a place that has a 2 wire replacement.
Picking mine up today and installing tomorrow.
Hopefully I get a few more kms to a tank now, if not, I've just wasted some more money
