    You forgot compression ;) what ecu are you going to run it with? the evo's got higher compression (8.5:1 vs 7.8:1) so the vr4 ecu won't have the right ignition mapping (too advanced) and the evo ecu will require some mucking about with the loom plugs to fit.

I had the same problem when I first swapped to a 16G, wouldn't reach full boost (15psi) until 4500rpm - turns out the bracket for the wastegate actuator was slightly bent causing the wastegate to sit slightly open (about 2mm) - I spaced the bracket out...

    Or you can get a port for an external wastegate welded onto your stock cast manifold - with suitable preheating and controlled cooling of the manifold it won't crack and will cost less than any of the above options. this is an evo6 manifold but you get the idea.
