Anyone here used CP 9:1 pistons before?

What cams are you going to use? Don't make your decision on pistons based on the static compression ratio, instead work out the dynamic compression ratio (the general rule is to aim for about 7.5 - 8:1 DCR) and choose your piston/cam combo based on that. I run 9.3:1 static CR (wiseco 9:1...

    Block differences

If you're going to pull the motor down anyway, you should seriously consider throwing a set of rods and pistons in it - they're so cheap these days. If you shop around (especially look at the states), you'll be able to get eagle rods and wiseco pistons for under a grand, no problems at all.

    What Muffler?

The valve was about half way along the exhaust, on a straight section. The car had no cat, so nothing to disturb the flow. The wastegate also vented to the atmosphere (hence it was difficult to tell the exhaust note was getting quieter as the screamer was open), so wasn't adding any further...

    What Muffler?

No .. you're missing it. This was when the butterfly was set to open (so effectively the configuration of the exhaust is exactly the same as the Varex in full open mode). The problem was, the flow of the exhaust was enough to force the butterfly to close (even though the device itself was set to...

    What Muffler?

A friend of mine had a similar device in his GTR, except it bolted into a flange rather than being built into the muffler like a varex. Anyway, the car was supposed to be making power .. but struggled to make 280rwkw. Pulled the butterfly out, and bam .. 415kw atw. As it turned out, the flow...

    What Muffler?

I have a 3" muffler with an oval body that has twin outlets on it. It's still a straight through muffler, it's gotta flow pretty well considering the power my nugget makes, and it's pretty quiet - far better than standard straight through cannons (which I hate with a passion). The exhaust also...

4G63T Stainless Exhaust Manifold Flange Suppliers?

Theoretically it should smooth the flow into the runners .. in practice I'd say the advantages are probably unnoticable, but that's just my uninformed opinion. My mate's ended up being $50 USD for the flange and $35USD for delivery.

4G63T Stainless Exhaust Manifold Flange Suppliers?

Just heard from my mate that these are mild, not stainless after all .. they just look like it after the CNC process. The guy who makes them said that stainless isn't great for head-flanges, because it's much more likely to warp than mild, with heat etc.

4G63T Stainless Exhaust Manifold Flange Suppliers?

For a street car, HPC mild is the way to go. Tubular manifolds are shit at containing heat (compared with stock cast ones anyway), and higher underbonnet temps kills shit quick. Dre, if it's not urgent, I'll update you when my mate's arrives and I've seen it in person / gotten better pics...

63 in a 60 zone? That's hilarious. Even NSW isn't that over the top.

4G63T Stainless Exhaust Manifold Flange Suppliers?

If you're willing to buy from the states, check this out: http://www.honda-tech.com/zerothread/2115078 Mate is buying one for his B18C .. $60 for the flange and $40 for shipping I think. They're really nice - CNC made and shaped through the flange to go from the port shape to round for the pipe.

That's not much of a photo, but the ute looks absolutely awesome in real life in my opinion anyway.

    largest brake conversion

Yeah I know mate, just the P1s have their spokes set a lot further out and are thinner than what's on mine, hence I seriously doubt they'll have any chance of clearing them :)

    largest brake conversion

Thanks mate. That's a bummer .. if +35 P1s don't clear, there's zero chance of mine clearing them. I think I'll just buy a parachute and go drag racing instead

    Fastest Lancers/VR4s in Oz?

Maybe that bright yellow/green cc coupe that was at Jamboree last year? I remember it trapping in the high 120s, and remember it running some good times though I can't recall if they were low 11s or high 10s.

Do you have any photos of the brackets you had made? What rotors did you use? Which wheels did you end up using? What sort of offset/etc are they? I have the E3 twin pots on my gsr, with decent pads and fluid they've held up alright on track days, but you'd want something a bit more serious...
