I can pick up a 4g15 EFI engine for around $800. This includes engine, loom, computer etc. Is the worth the hassle of installing into my CB or should I try and find a 1.8 EFI.

Hi Scott, if you got everything for the conversion then why not :) The 4G15 carby engines were shithouse. Just make sure you change the rubber fuel hoses to high pressure EFI items and you will most probably have to grab an EFI fiel tank setup from another CB Lancer as well.

The other option you have is to sell your CB carby car and put the money from the sale + $800 toward an EFI CB or CC Lancer already done. Save the hassle as you can pick these up for chicken feed these days.

Thats what I love about these forums. They remind me of the little things..... I did not even think of the tank and pump setup. Will have to see if they throw the extra bits in on the deal.

That's what I reckon too. A lot of people have tried it before and successfully done it, but they end up finding other parts here and there that they will need to pay extra for to make it come together. Depending on how the CB Lancer dash and interior loom is setup you might have to change that too. These days with the prices of these sorts of cars you could sell the carby model and buy a EFI model for the same pric - no head fuks and you usually end up with better creature comforts and features in the better model car.

yeah i would have to agree, there is so many different parts to consider, and so much hassel in the ecu wiring it would save you time and possibly money to get an EFI model.
