Im building it for me man, Not anyone else
Okay you got me, I'll just buy an evo and be like EVERYONE ELSE![]()
There are plenty of cars you could buy without being like everyone else....
This forum has 3 times as many non EVO drivers than EVO drivers.....!!
I know you are building it for you which is fine, but you have to look past the near future, and look at the long run. Eventually you will have to sell it.
I'm not trying to rain on your parade- but take it from me: take your original budget and triple it. This is what its going to cost you. There is ALOT of engineering needed to get this project right.
I am 2 years and $25k into a build which was originally meant to be a rebuilt motor and panel and paint. Budgets easily get blown like Hugh Grant. Take it from me- you are wasting your cash with a 4G63T honda. Sure its original and something different, but not only do you have to worry about the engine conversion you have to worry about the 4WD conversion!!! A custom crossmember and engine mounts will set you back a coulple of grand right there. Then there's custom tailshaft- another $1000+. Just to get it setup (properly) will cost you $10,000. I can only imagine how much that fuel tank cost. You would have been heaps better off just having a boot mounted fuel cel...
If I were you i'd hock your gear off and look into something like this instead- its rare, light, sleeper, 4WD and its engine mounts bolt straight up to a 4G63T.
