if you want a high revving engine have you considered destroking it a bit jay?.. i read somewhere months and months ago about destroked 63's running well past 10k

either way i'm sure its gonna be great 8)

i was thinking about that to, but then i loose alot of my bottom end power, and i would like to still drive this car around daily.... well close too.....

i want to see a vtec conversion

i was thinking of shoving an EVO9 Mivec into my car but thats just $$$, if you can find me a Mivec head from an old Cyborg 1.6l i think it was... i'll do it....

you could use the factory TPS just moved to a custom bracket on the new setup...just a thought

ahh thank you for reminding me, as i am using the GTR throttles i'm using there stock linkages now, so i will be forced to make a plenum. i can also use there stock TPS..... dont worry you will all still be able to hear the quads roar!..

Jay, what program do you use to calculate intake runner lengths/ velocities and exhaust primary lengths? I have to start looking at all that for my other car soon so the design side of things has me interested.

Are you going to run an electric vacuum pump for the brake booster?

WOW...........dude love your work.

nah dont use a program, dad's pass down some really old VW performance books with some calc's and theory's in them, and i just use that, and add some fluid dynamics in there and you have most of what you need to know. there are some basic rule of thumbs though. but unless you have every single variable, exhaust/intake/cam lobe/valve size/valve opening timing/displacement/piston size/etc..... its still a calculated guess....

but if you really want a good program for this, but its not cheap...

as for the Vac booster, the seprated plenums will be joined via host to a central point were the booster/gauge/ecu can get there readings from etc....

hows it coming along jay?

we have 4g62 mivec motor packages at work if you want mivec.

on hold for the moment, and working alot more... but as soon as the cash flows back in, it will be finished with a few surprises.....

hurm...

does anyone by any chance have a picture of a Mivec head from the under side? (seeing the valves etc? engine mounted on the right hand side not left)

log onto mivec.co.nz pretty sure you will find it on there, pretty useful blokes too mainly
I had a mivec mirage back in NZ but no disassembled pics sorry

i was looking at that site not long ago.... every one is selling the complete engine as appose to just the head.... if i can find one, no doubt i will use it! (some how lol!)

ah right of course they do too, shit sorry!

RPS (Racig Performance Works) in Perth do alot of mivec conversions & mod's too, plenty of kits and parts.

Update: i have made a hell of a decision to postpone the Quad throttles for another time/project (possibly a Cordia) due to the sheer weight of the Galant's power would almost be useless unless i'm at 4k+ RPM all the time...

so to replace this i am now searching for a place that will sell me replacement parts for the supercharger kit i had built last year, and or a new supercharger with higher volume and take it from there..

the Quads are literally on the home stretch but have to be customized to the engine bay space that is available. i know many of you have wanted to see this in action, unfortunately it may be a while from now, the Quads will be sitting in storage till they are ready for the next engine....

other updates:

block is ready, all major bolts and nuts are now replaced by ARP studs etc... in the process of designing a new extended sump, baffle plate with crank scraper.... sump will have provisions for turbo return line just in case i blow the supercharger again.....

relax bro, i'm still going to run it as N/A with the microtech strapped to it and see what she can do..... then boost.... i miss boost lol....

ok couldnt keep my hands off it....

linkages are up and ready, just needs to be re enforced, need to make the mani for the turbo set up later on.... and still searching for different sized velocity stacks...

looks good jay, does the sump still fit?

or is it dry sump time????????????????

ahaha nah not yet bro.... thats being saved for the track car for next project....i'm just using the old extractors i build ages ago for dummy fit.... i havent started building the sump but it will be extended by 1lt-2lt, and a new design in cooling system i want to try out..... progress report soon.......
